On December 9th, 2022, Prof. Werner Nau from Department of Life Science and Chemistry at Jacobs University Germany was invited by Prof. Lei Liu from College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering to give a special online talk entitled “The chaotropic effects as an assembly motif in supramolecular chemistry”. More than 20 young teachers and graduate students attended the talk. After the talk, Prof. Nau and Prof. Liu discussed their recent achievements, and agreed on future collaborations.
Prof. Werner Nau obtained Ph.D at University of Würzburg Germany in 1994. Afterwards, he took several postdoc positions at University of Basel Switzerland, and University of Ottawa Canada. In 2000, he was appointed as an assistant professor at University of Basel, and got promoted to be a full professor at Jacobs University Germany in 2004, and severed as the Dean of School of Science since 2014. His group mainly works in supramolecular chemistry, and has published about 300 papers in top journals, such as Nature, Nature Chem., Nature Meth., with about 20000 citations and h-index being 72. He has been selected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, FRSC.
